Deep Explorations

Sincerity is All We Have
What do I have that is forever? What do I have that is not decaying or barely hanging on? Today I stand 5 feet 10 inches with visible abs and a full head of hair. In a few years I will lose some of my hair. A few years later I will lose some height and gain more abdominal fat.
Today I practice medicine, but I am one stroke, or one severe car accident, away from losing this ability. In our life, very little is permanent. We hang onto things that we create and work for, but those will parish in time.
There is only one thing, I have observed, that can proceed me. Only one aspect of me can live forever. This is my sincerity. The sincerity of my actions, speech, and art are all things that can live forever, transverse through space, time, culture, and geographic boundaries. Sincerity in the origin of all that I do.
This sincerity is felt by the recipient or the observer. Somewhere in your bones you get a feeling when a sincere person is talking to you. You can feel art that is created for the sake of it. Nature treats a sincere man differently. It preserves his art in a way not seen in the rest.
