Deep Explorations

Gods Plan

Starting this discussion with the definition of religion is not practical. There’s every permutation of religion known to man.

Instead I wish to explore a notion common in many religions which is called God’s plan.

The Plan is an ideal. If only you could live up to it, you would gain the best in this world. No one who’s speaking about God’s plan is living up to God’s plan.

Churches, mosques, temples are riddled with untruths, scandals, and politics. In the last few years, every major religion has waged a war killing thousands of innocent people. Religion could not stop them from their greed.

The scholars will come back and say don’t blame the religion, it’s the people. Afterall people only follow the parts of the religion that suit their own interests. They would not be incorrect.

It does beg the question, why preach religion, when everyone is doing whatever they want anyway?

Closely examining the prescriptions of religion, you can see that it’s meant for the masses. What the scholars preach on the podium is very different from what they reveal in one-on-one conversation. The path to get to heaven are laid out in broad stroke euphemisms. They are not the nitty-gritty details. They don’t address the intricacies of the human condition.

If God made religion, he made it that a religious person is no different than a non-religious person. If God made religion, he made an ideal that could never be lived up to by man. Why would God make a game that could never be won? It does not feel, God-worthy to do such a thing.

When one realizes the emptiness of religion, they have a chance to explore beyond the programming and beyond the dogma. They have an opportunity to experience God without the preprogramming, without the biased stories, without the culture. They have a chance to see God for what it truly is and to see the world for exactly as he made it.
