Deep Explorations

Anxiety and Depression are a Luxury
This truth resonates deep in my bones.
In my youth, I experienced both of these emotions, not unlike most people on this planet.
I have sympathy for anyone who experiences the full force of anxiety and depression.
The spirit vanishes, and the body responds in ways that can make anxiety and depression, feel physically crippling.
As a humble traveler, who understands life and death can stand just one second apart, I present to you this truth with soft eyes and a light smile. What I wish to share is a truth I do not speak of lightly.
Anxiety and depression are both from the mind. They are inherently transitory.
If you woke up and found a lion in your room, would you have anxiety or depression? If your child fell into the pool, would you have time for anxiety or depression?
One will say, those examples aren’t fair.
Those problems are acute, with immediate solutions. Run from the lion, jump in the pool.
I will humbly ask, do you see how acutely your anxiety and depression cloud your judgement? Do you see how little time you have in this life? Why are you okay with spending the few hours you are awake and productive on being anxious or depressed?
In today’s society, anxiety and depression are discussed openly, yet it doesn’t lead to any solutions. This is because anxiety and depression are casually talked about or intellectualized.
Their true roots are never examined. The extent of their tentacles is never identified. It’s easy to say, I have anxiety and I have depression. And there is nothing wrong with having either of those.
But when one is in a time when they are pursuing a transformational task, when one is in an inferno, they naturally step away from their anxiety and depression. Those, after all, are figments of the mind. The mind takes us away from the present.
When one is all in to pursue an understanding one naturally needs to feel in the present. In the moment, there is no mind and no anxiety or depression.
